Perhilion Theatre Company was set up in 2002 by
Alasdair Satchel to produce One Man Rant at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The company has since toured to audiences in Scotland,
the Czech Republic at the Prague Fringe, the Edinburgh Festival for
several years in a row, London, Newcastle, the Brighton Fringe and now to
Hong Kong.
-
The Scotsman 5 star hit One Man Rant employed the
skills of Alasdair Satchel as writer, director and performer and Rachael
Rayment as dramaturg and co-director.
Original music was commissioned from the Marcia Blaine School for Girls.
-
Two Man Rumble, Perhilion’s acclaimed second outing
on to the world's stages was once again written, directed and performed
by Alasdair Satchel, firstly with the addition of Michale Blyth on stage
and Dramaturgical duties,
and then, latterly, Alasdair Macrae. Perhilion once again collaborated
with The Marcia Blaine School for Girls to provide the unique soundscape
for the production.
Trademarks of the Perhilion
style are a comic fusion of physicality, music, the spoken word, and an
unerring sense of the poetically vulgar.
-
Luggage, Perhilion’s third project to date, explores
the nature of modern day relationships. Employing four actors, large
scale puppetry, and original music from the Marcia Blaine School For
Girls, it was written and directed by Alasdair Satchel. Luggage, a work
in progress, was developed thanks to the Playwrights Studio Scotland.
-
With a wealth of diverse
training behind them Perhilion Theatre Company offer workshops on the
processes behind the creation of their shows.
-
Perhilion Theatre Company is a
member of HITN, the Highlands & Islands Theatre Network.
